Are Dental Implants right for you?

Learn about what dental implants are, the process, recovery and some common questions answered.

The Details

What are dental Implants?

Dental implants are man-made substitutions for the root structure of natural teeth.

Unlike traditional bridges or dentures, (that sit directly on top of the gum) dentists place implants directly into the jawbone.

Dental implants can be used to enhance or restore a patient’s smile. They replace missing teeth and provide a fixed solution.

Downtown Dental implants are the best choice to restore or enhance your smile because they look, fit, feel, and function like your natural teeth. They also help to ensure a healthy mouth for years to come.

The Facts About Dental Implants

When most people think about implants, they think that they are for aesthetics and not for health reasons. If you neglect your teeth, it can cause gum disease and other infections that can lead to heart conditions, among other things.
When you are fitted with dental implants, they are shaped and colored/shaded to match your real teeth so no one would be able to tell the difference.
Dental implants are a fixed part of your mouth so there is no need to worry about them moving or falling out.

What to expect

Dental Implant Process

An initial surgery to create molds of the bone, gum tissue, and teeth spacing (and, if necessary, placing “posts” to hold the artificial teeth).

After some rest time, the artificial teeth are fitted in one or two sessions.

Following one more rest period, the artificial teeth are permanently installed.

Once the dental implant treatment is finished, we will give further instructions to properly care for your implant.

From start to finish, Dr. Woll will walk you through the process and make sure you are comfortable and understand your options.

So nice! They made me very comfortable and the conversation was lovely. Everyone was very informative and knowledgeable which made the whole thing even more comforting. Communication between the team was also super nice and lovely to see.

Implant-supported single tooth

When a patient needs one or more teeth replaced, single implants are the best option for longevity when it comes to your health and maximum stability.

Implant-supported bridges

Patients who need multiple teeth replaced might be best suited with a bridge that prevents significant shifting.

Implant-supported dentures

If a patient needs an entirely new row of upper and/or lower teeth, an implant-supported denture is the most secure denture solution.

Dental implants that are properly placed and well-cared for can last for upwards of 25 years. Today’s advanced technology and our doctors’ experience allow us to give you the best chance at your dental implants lasting for life!

Will my dental implants look natural?

Yes! We shade match your implants to ensure that they are the same color as the rest of your teeth so they blend in and no one would be able to know the difference. We also take impressions to be able to make sure that the implants are the correct size and shape for your mouth, which is important for maintaining your bite.

Will my dental implants hold up/are they strong?

Dental implants are just as strong as natural enamel. Plus, because they aren’t susceptible to decay, you won’t ever have to worry about cavities. It’s important to remember that an important factor in the longevity of implants is care. Smoking and poor dental hygiene are two of the biggest causes of implant failure.
